According to online retailer nflshop.com, the top three selling NFL player jerseys for the 2016 all belonged to rookies. Maybe not a complete surprise given the talent and popularity of this past season’s rookie class, but pretty unusual when you take into consideration some of the veteran superstars that they managed to outsell. Hey, how many Tom Brady jerseys does one fan really need, anyway?
Anyway… Here we go. The top 10 selling NFL player jerseys of 2016
King the Hail Mary, Aaron Rodgers managed to compile one of his better statistical seasons despite the Packers up and down season. A four game losing streak had NFL fans wondering if this was the beginning of the end of the Packers’ dominance in the NFC North, but Rodgers responded with six straight victories, another division title, 4,428 yards passing, 40 TDs, only 7 INTs and overall passer rating of 104.2. And somehow ten other players jerseys outsold Aaron’s.
Carr led the Raiders to one of their best seasons in recent memory with 3,937 passing yards, 28 TDs and only 6 INTs. One can’t help but wonder if the Raiders wouldn’t have fared better against the Texans in the playoffs if Carr hadn’t unfortunately broken his leg at the end of the season. Either way, it looks as though the Raiders have finally found a franchise quality QB.

He punches walls. He fights kicking nets. He fights Josh Norman. He made one of the most iconic one-handed catches you’ll ever see. He was also third in the NFL in receiving yards with 1,367.
One of the fastest receivers in the NFL, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Antonio Brown finished the 2016 regular season in 5th place in total receiving yards with 1,284 and tied for 2nd in TD receptions with 12.
Although the Broncos s a team struggled maintain the same level of play that led them to be 2015-2016 Super Bowl Champs, it’d hard to argue that Miller’s play suffered at all during the 2016 season. Miller finished the season 2nd in the league in sacks with 13.5. He’s the only defensive player whose jersey broke the top 10.

Not his best statistical year due to injuries (Madden curse?) that held him out of several games during the 2016 season. Still a matchup nightmare for defenses when he’s on the field… and as popular as ever with the fans.

Like him or not, Brady is a first ballot Hall of Famer and could potentially go down as the greatest QB of all time. Last year’s “Deflate-Gate” scandal and corresponding four game suspension at the beginning of 2016 did nothing more than motivate him even more than usual.

The rookie QB from North Dakota State started the season on fire, but struggled some down the stretch. Either way his future looks bright and he is a finalist for 2016 NFL Rookie of the Year.
Another candidate for 2016 NFL Rookie of the Year honors, Dak not only led the Cowboys to a NFC East title but also handled the corresponding QB controversy with grace and poise. Pretty impressive for a rookie.
At one point early in the 2016 season, it looked like Elliott had a legitimate shot at challenging the NFL’s all time single season rushing record. Although he fell short of that title, he still managed to lead all NFL running backs in rushing yards for 2016. Combined with fellow Rookie of the Year nominee Dak Prescott and WR Bryant, it looks as though Dallas’ offense will be one to reckon with for quite some time. Elliott can also boast having the highest selling NFL jersey for all of 2016.
